Anyone from Australia?

Looking at an ebay item, a watch.
Price to ship to the states is $65 Australian? Huh?
If there is anyone here from Australia, if I buy this watch, could I have it sent to you and I would hope ship it to me for way less than that! Or is that reasonable? I have asked the seller if this is correct. Price to ship IN Australia is $9.00 Australian. I know it's airmail, but does it need a first class seat???;)
Auction ends in a few days.

No worries mate! :D sorry.......couldn't resist it :)

PM me your full details & I'll look into it this morning ;) Airmail is not cheap & depends I guess on your particular location. To us down here, US is a huge track of land. States everywhere :P

Seeing as though it's an Auction & not BIN, you'll need to let me know what your wiling to bid for it & depending when auction end is, I can wack amount on @ last minute to try & get it @ cheapest price ;)

More than happy to get your watch over to you cobba!

P.S. I like smileys ;):P

Tim.

Gilly,
Best get BAD300 to help you. I am in a remote location & that makes it harder to organize. We only get mail a couple of times a week & if we have to go to the post office its a 50mile round trip. Postage can be a sore point on ebay. I have a ram card on its way from ca, $5 postage. I was once quoted $120 postage on a switch ! Make sure that you can do the bidding & have it delivered to an address that is different from your ebay/paypal one. Some wont do it.

Good luck !!

M suggestion was due to world time difference layback40. Seeing as though auction ends in Australian time. I'm sure Gilly may not like bidding @ 2am in the morning over there to try & get it cheaper (bidding high enough @ last minute to ensure you wipe out opposition)? Doesn't concern me either way. Just like helping folk & I know the EBay pitfalls well ;)

I'm a believer in the proxy bidding process. I was planning on bidding before I go to bed Wednesday night (planning on going out anyways so will be home later in the evening). If I bid the highest I am willing to pay (plus a small cushion) and someone outbids me, so be it. But like anyone else, I hate being outbid by a few cents or few dollars.
My thought it though, if someone fron down under would be willing to bid on it and shipped to them, it might be easier than convincing this bloke to ship to an address other than mine here in the states, especially if he is just trying to make major money on shipping. MAYBE he's not, maybe $65 airmail is in line with the actual cost. I know the surface options are about nonexistent now, when I started selling on eBay I shipped surface overseas a lot.

Would appreciate it if you could reply back so I know what's going on. Auction ends in a day and a half.
