Chainsaw parts in CT....

My father came up to me just now and asked for me to find a parts store in CT that carries chainsaw parts (Specifically for a Shindaiwa 450)So two questions really.

First does anyone know of any stores in the central CT region and would carry parts for them?

OR

Is this site reputable? http://www.partstree.com

(Any other recommendations will be most welcome)

Give Stewart's Lawnmower Service a call in Rocky Hill. I know they're mostly lawnmowers but are pretty good with small engines of all types, worth a shot.

My great uncle owns or used to own the place, haven't seen him in years though so who knows.

Hmm, not too far from my work. I'll give them a call tomorrow and ask if they have/can get the part.

I've bought a lot of internal engine parts from parts tree. They're great!

That's him! I'll have to ask my father the exact relation but I know he's somewhere in the family. I take it you know them? (small world moment beginning to hit)

Yep! Paul and my grandfather were friends. He was a member of the Wethersfield Cove Yacht Club (as are my father and I, my late grandfather was active right up until his passing), so we all knew him.

There is a Wethersfield Cove yatcht club? I'm assuming that they don't (Can't) actually meet in the cove right? (What is it, 15 feet deep at the most?)

Also I think i'm going to go with partstree as they have the entire assembly that we need for sale as a package.

Yes, we celebrated our 100yr anniversary last year. It's basically a working man's club, with required labor in exchange for decreased docking and hauling fees. It's the docks on the opposite side of the cove from the public launching ramp. When my boat wasn't relegated to lawn ornament status these past 2 years I used to rent a slip for the whopping price of $425/season.

The channel into the cove averages about 7', so as long as there's enough clearance under the bridge you can easily get most powerboats under 50' into the cove (ex. my father's 33 only drew 3.5 ft.). The big boat guys do keep them towards the shore due to the travel time, no wake zones and amount of fuel just to get to the Sound but usually a good number come upriver for the Commissioning Party in June and the Riverfest Celebration/fireworks in July. Quite a few downriver guys keep 16-18 footers upriver for playing around during the week after work.

Shindaiwa is a popular brand with rental centers, so depending on what you're looking for they might have it.

All the parts I bought there to rebuild my JD mower's engine were factory parts with the Kaw logo on them.
