I got the 79 from a professor at E.M.U. in Ypsilanti, Mich, and drove her to Florida. My fiance was visiting from over-seas, and my Durango was (in the shop). So I had to use the Benz. The SD started to leak tranny fluid. which go worse and worse. I called Pierre at about 4:30 p.m.(after all the other Benz mechanics had gone home), and he said to try to get her over to his shop.
I pulled the car into his shops driveway at about 8:30 p.m. that evening..at which time the transmission seal puked at that very moment (wow!, that was playing it close). We pushed her into his garage bay, and by 1:00a.m., had the tranny out, and diagnosed the problem. Came back the very next morning at 7:00a.m. (my fiance and I stayed at a hotel in Cocoa-beach, from which , Pierre picked me up at), went and got new parts- put the car back together- and i was on my way by 3:00 p.m. that day to retrieve my fiance, and resume our holiday. Thats why I went to pierre's shop. And why i would recommend him to anyone as a graet mechanic. note: Working on Benze's is a passion of his...not simply a job.
