Frigidaire is the bottom of the proverbial barrel with regard to durability and price.

You get what you pay for........and Frigidaire is cheap.

They market those devices toward women..........and price them accordingly..........

If you want a good range at a reasonable price, look at GE or Whirlpool........find the cheapest self-cleaning range without all the bells and whistles.

Or, buy one on CL for $250.........best deal you can possibly find. Everybody is dumping their enameled finish because they must have "stainless"...........

I got a perfectly functioning Amana with digital oven controls and self-clean cycle set up for NG for $100 on CL because someone upgraded- Deals are out there. Half the time I can't understand why anyone would buy some of this stuff new when used is just as good at a fraction of the price. I mean, once it's in your house, it's not new anymore! Maybe I'm just cheap.

I have a GE range, it is pretty nice. My fridge is a frigidaire....it works well, and uses very little power. It easily keeps the freezer at -20F

We have a GE Profile slide-in.The only problem is the gray grates which get black spots on them that are very hard to remove. All of the new GE,s have the same color grates.

Its not like normal electric, it responds much much faster. The elements under the glass cycle on and off, and can go from dark/off to full on/red-hot in about 2 seconds. Pretty awesome. I had a gas range where I used to live, and this one is better.
