Spam Recipes....
LUVMBDiesels had a funny idea to create a Spam recipe thread.
So here it is! Im going to post Spamwiches.... You need: Bread (sourdough preferred) Cheese (swiss preferred) Can of Spam Mayonnaise Lettuce Beer (this is optional, but makes it better)(also – consult with CLKman for different choices) Cooking: open can of spam, and cut into flat slices. Broil these slices for a few minutes until they have browned. You can also fry them until they are browned. Toast bread. Once bread is toasted, assemble sandwich. Consume the sandwich with liberal amounts of beer. It makes it more tolerable. OK, may not be the tastiest thing ever, but it’s not bad…..

When removed from the can, rinsed and chilled in the fridge, the "Spiced Pork shoulder And haM" can be sliced very thin and then fried to a crisp, much like any other pork product.

LMAO!
OK here is mine... Take a can of Spam, remove the contents, throw them away and eat the can... Nah, just kidding... here is one that is actually kind of good 1 can of Spam, rinsed and crumbled 3 potatoes 2 peppers - one green one red 2 large onion 1 clove garlic a bit of EVOO wash and peel the potatoes and them microwave them for 5 minutes or until soft In a skillet Heat the EVOO - you can use B100 if you want - it can't hurt this! Chop the garlic, onion peppers, and potatoes Put the veggies in the skillet and cook them until the onions caramelize Add the Spam and cook until it is browned Instant SPAMASH! Serve with eggs over easy - if you dare to eat eggs!

There is nothing special about Spam. It is a meat product similar to about 1000 other meat products. Meat + salt + flavoring. The only unique thing is it is in a can (is it still in a can?) I haven't bought any in a long time. I bet if they packaged it like lunch meat they would sell a lot more of it! Yeah, Hawaiian's love it...

One time a few years ago my dear wife, whose business is in Foo Foo Sedona and has lots of Foo Foo clients, got invited to a Foo Foo party. In the interest of marital bliss I agreed to be pulled out of here by the roots and go with her. The hosts of the party provided pizza crusts and sauces and it was up to guests to bring toppings. The crusts of course were handmade out of stone ground flour and there was an abundance of fancy toppings. Smoked duck, prosciutto, pricey cheeses, exotic mushrooms of every possible variety, all sorts of fresh herbs and expensive olive oil, you name it. I brought my "special pate", which consisted of rinsed and cubed SPAM. My pate got rave reviews. I got asked for instructions on how to make it. People who would no more intentionally eat SPAM than they'd eat Friskies were coming back for seconds. Nobody was the wiser, and I chuckled all the way home
I don't have a specific recipe, only the advice that you gotta fry SPAM until it's highly caramelized, almost burnt to bring out the flavor. Good bread, spicy mayo, lettuce and sliced 'maters....great sandwich. A crispy slab folded into an omelet with mozzarella ain't too shabby either.

The Japanese love that stuff
SPAM sushi is one of the favorites over there. No Bull. Not that bad actually. A little chunk of SPAM embedded in rice with a seaweed wrapper.

This thread is making me hungry!
When I used to hunt and fish with my Dad Spam was always on the menu. The good ol' one skillet meal on the Coleman white-gas stove with potatoes and onions and Spam. Also there was a Spam knock-off called "Treet" that was similar. Good times.....
