http://opentravel.com/blogs/worlds-most-boring-cities-to-visit/ If you're not interested in visiting the John C. Freeman Weather Museum or seeing what a city without zoning looks like, that's YOUR problem, not ours.

Or getting caught in an office building when the bottom floors get flooded. A friend of mine flew in and flew out of that place during the floods. The airport van driver couldn't see more than one foot in front of the windshield as he sped through the pouring torrential rains!
After attending to business, they managed to get to the airport and fortunately for them the flights were continued. One guy who was with them was scared of flying. The thought of taking off in an airplane in torrential rains scared him pretty bad. They were all very happy just to be able to leave H-town. |

True, but their fried chicken establishments rank among the world's best.

Houston TX is also the home of the National Museum of Funeral History...
www.nmfh.org and HQ of my employer Service Corporation Int'l, largest provider of deathcare in North America, and arguably the world. I'm proud to live in the most dangerous city in the US...St. Louis. Ha, my relatives in Detroit recoil in fear at the notion of coming to STL. The relatives in Cincinnati aren't wild about coming here either...gotta drive through East St. Louis IL to get to STL, and that's no picnic.

I once considered buying a home north of downtown OKC, or in Nichols Hills, but I don't do enough there to make such a purchase practical. But when comparing the price of homes there with the prices in Highland Park, Texas, the homes in OKC look more and more attractive for a similar structure.
Property tax in Oklahoma is also far below the price of property taxes in Texas. No, make that far, far below. (I have lived in Houston, actually Sugarland, and with the exception of the Mercedes dealer in Sugarland I did not find any good reason to live there.) The new I-40 in OKC is very nice, though, and if anyone needs a bit of a cafe' district they should not miss Bricktown. Oklahoma City is also an Interstate crossroads, so there are truck stops along the Interstate and gas and diesel always seem to be cheaper there than most places in Oklahoma. And there is a wrecking yard just north of SW 15th Street, just west of the river. If you are into junkyards this is one that is not to be missed. The Mercedes were once spread out among the other imports, but now seem to have a section to themselves. It is in the northwest corner of the lot. |

Depends on where you want, and can afford to live. The homes in Highland Park/Dallas, TX are priced the way they are because of the school system, for the mostpart.
