Computer Question

Just changed my email to gmail. My wife also has a gmail address. How can i set them up with separate shortcuts instead logging in and out of each acct.?

Also the reason for the change is i received an email [which i later found out was a virus] from someone selling Dell computers. The problem is that also included 7 of my friends from my address book. How the hell did they get those addresses?

I don't know if that is possible within the same browser, when logged on to windows as the same user... Have you tried bookmarking the two separate pages?? I have found that with our kitchen computer, which is general use, using different browsers is a very handy way to share internet and computer, without problems like different saved passwords, bookmarks and even open tabs. Being the nice guy that I am, I let my wife have Firefox, and I have to get by with Chrome...

Sounds like virus city.... Even though you have switched email accounts, it would seem a very good time to run all malware removal programs which are at your disposal. Malwarebytes, Spybot, Avira anti virus are my first line devices, and they are all free.

In gmail you can get it to automatically forward your mail from one account to another - I think they even call it automatically forwarding.

You can also use email software such as MS outlook and Thunderbird (Mozilla version of the same - well sort of) to access your gmail account(s) if you wish. Look for pop3 settings...

Yup, Thunderbird retrieving from Gmail is the best way to go.
Download the free avast! antivirus program and run it, it's quite good. I used that in conjunction with Zone Alarm and never had an issue. Now I just run Linux.

Probably a mutual friend who followed a link in the email. Mining for email addresses is pretty common, and is even done by places that are not entirely evil...
