Just a fire, on a producing platform.

All 7 wells it was/is connceted to were properly shut.

All workers were rescued.

Not a good thing, but not as bad as it sounded at first.

funny how when the spot light is on every one about rig safety, there is no leak as shut off worked properly.

No rig involved here, this happened on a production platform. Nothing at all like a drilling rig.

Heck I know it sounds like a Clive Cussler book, but if somebody, say like Saudi Arabia manages to shut down production in the Gulf, wouldn't we need to buy more oil from them? At higher prices?

We buy twice as much crude from Canada than we do from Saudi Arabia. It was probably Canadian terrorists....oh wait, never mind....they're not Muslims so we can't blame them.
