Free money....

Free "found" money does not help stem bankruptcy. It seems when you don't earn your money you treat it differently than when you earn it. Surprise, surprise, surprise. What implications does that say to you?

Can't teach an old dog new tricks...a lot of times bankrupcy is a product of poor financial management (though obviously there are other situations too). Give someone a ton of money and they're going to piss it away even faster unless they were able to learn how to handle and save after the first time around. I am not too surprised by this study.

e.g. instead of misusing $1000 on "oh I just want that pair of jeans", it is $150,000 on "Oh I have enough money, I just want that car", bigger stakes.

That's why poor people are always poor, they just don't understand how to handle money.

I'd probably splurge on some name-brand beer.

It's a step up from the black & white label "BEER".
