Good dishes

Anyone cooked any good meals lately? I suppose this might be an addition to the labor day grilling thread...

I decided I'd cook a nice big meal for the gf, best friend and roomate/his gf. I've been at it all afternoon but its been worth it--this one is amazing. So far:
- chicken marinating in citrus chipotle cilantro (will be grilled)
- homemade pico de gallo
- homemade chipotle sour cream & red onion tortilla dip
- corn tortillas fried into strips
- serving over romaine and black bean salad with honey dijon sweet corn salsa/dressing

Of course with margaritas. I'm really proud of this meal, as you can probably tell anyone else cook great stuff lately?

Today, I did a "farmer's market" BLT. Peppered bacon from an artisan meat purveyor, perfect hand select tomato, bib lettuce, on a classic white french loaf style bread, toasted on one side with a little mayo. There's just a little time left for really good summer tomatos, so the time for this sandwich is drawing to a close.

What are you doing in Philly? That kind of food belongs down here the land of real Tex-Mex and rust-free bodies (cars that is, some of us are personally a little rusty).

Catina style tacos are always a favorite of mine. Simple and through down some cash for some corona, lime, and guacamole!

My pico is delicious!! I don't know why I prefer southwestern cooking, something having to do with an insatiable craving for cilantro and lime flavors? I have no family down there or anything, just a preferred food genre I guess. It all turned out really well last night, my favorite part being a tie between the dip and marinated chicken.

MTI that sandwich sounds scrumptious!
