Acura Drivers and the Chips on the Shoulders

I have literally waited years to post this because I felt my perceptions might be flawed. But after dozens, possibly even 100+ incidents with Acura drivers who seem to have a big chip on their shoulders with regard to MB’s I have to put it out here.

Why is it that they are the ones who, more than any other drivers by far, insist upon:

1. Catapulting away when the light turns green to “prove” their car is faster;

2. Dangerously merging in front of me even though there is nothing but empty road behind;

3. Speeding up to prevent me from changing lanes in front of them;

4. Various and sundry other dumb $hit.

Is it just me or does anyone else notice this too?

Yeah, everytime I'm in my Acura there's some idiot in an M-B who won't accelerate briskly at the light, hogs the lane and won't let me merge, tries to cut me off and does various and sundry other dumb $hit. I don't understand it.

And other times the idiot is driving a BMW...

It's probably random incidents supporting a preconceived notion that a specific marque has more bad drivers. There was recently another similar thread about Dodge Ram trucks.

1. trade your current ride in on a 560SEC AMG.

2. since you are now in possession of the proper mercedes model, allow the ricer to pull alongside you at the red light. be sure to stop one half car length shorter than rice boy making him think he's got the jump on you.

3. place foot on the brake and blip the throttle placing the AMG into first gear.

4. when the light turns green, FLOOR IT. AMF!!!!

^^ LOVE IT!

Heck, I do that in the SDL. I throw it in L and hit it. Once Rudy comes on boost it is AMF to most ricers! Couple of judicious shifts into D and we are done... Of course once the Acura gets through the smokescreen, he can take me, bit I have taken a few ricer-a-roni-mobiles with the 603...

The best car for shutting down ricers though, was the '57 Nomad. To them it was a big old station wagon. If you did not notice the AR Cragar SS clones with serious rubber and your stereo was turned up to loud to hear the glasspacks rumbling you could try to take it. Many tried many failed...

Now that's funny.......I have the exact same situation with anybody who owns a Jeep Grand Cherokee. I'm fully convinced that Jeep won't sell them the vehicle unless they show up with papers that proves their a DB.

The absolutely, positively, never disappoint with their usual DB behavior.

Every day, and in every kind of vehicle.... except aging Mercedes diesels

Around here it'd be hard to single out a particular make, pretty much everybody drives like that. If anything, two groups that particularly bother me are big jacked up blinged out twin cab usually diesel pickups driven by *****heads who think they are entitled to break traffic laws just because they're so big. Tiny Pecker syndrome I guess. It's also obvious from the way these vehicles smoke that their payments are so high they can't afford to keep the sootwagons in decent tune. They generally don't mess with me in my old F150 because it's so ratty looking that I've obviously got nothing to lose by standing on the brakes if they dog my butt. The second group is, naturally, any vehicle with California plates.

I think it's some kind of a semi ovoid, globular shaped, attempt at aerodynamic style. Probably with a badge on it somewhere saying acura so you can recognize it when you get close enough to read it.

Around here, there is very little consideration for others on the road. Go back up north into New England (not near NYC or Boston) and the entire driving dynamic is different. Nobody is in a rush, nobody trying to cut in at the last second, etc. Even away from Philly I see it around here

I suspect its because they are PO'd they couldn't afford a Lexus or German car.

Dodge Rams are seriously getting on my nerves lately, I swear they attract jerks.

Anecdotal evidence is the best kind of evidence.

I swear every CLK driver I know drinks a ton of beer and every car owner who drives an old school benz is absolutely crazy.

I speak with experience

Over here any small car full of little old ladies with white hats on the rear parcel shelf are the ones to watch out for. They appear to be controlled by random number generators.

Strange that no one has mentioned Volvo drivers, a mind set~ they think that as they have such safe cars, they can make up for it by driving poorly !! (oops better be careful, i just realized who has a Volvo, dont want an infraction )

Definitely.

They have a requirement to utilize a 10' following distance or they will have their truck repossessed.
