Sweet Home Alabama for W205

What is known is the C-Class is likely to be the biggest production model coming out of Vance in a few years. The C-Class already is the best selling Mercedes model in the U.S., a key consideration in Mercedes officials’ decision to move production here.

The Wall Street Journal has reported that 20 percent of the Mercedes worldwide C-Class production will be in Vance, with the vehicles earmarked for the North American market. Mercedes has said it sells about 50,000-60,000 C-Class vehicles in the United States annually.

Starting in 2014, Mercedes will make about 60 percent of its C-Class vehicles in Bremen, Germany, and Mercedes factories in South Africa and China will each make about 10 percent.
