Stimulis package is the worst thing ever...

And they voted accordingly. But when the cameras are gone, the story changes..

It's in the Wall Street Journal so it must be true....

Per my usual

Don't blame the Democrats, Don't blame the Republicians.
BLAME THE POLITICIANS.

We know the Demos had their pet projects in their too, maybe (very maybe) they were more up front about them.

Conceptionaly the package was a good idea, ok wasn't a bad idea, just don't let Poli's or government have anything to do with it.

I work in PHysical Facilities at Purdue in WEst Lafayette. We got a lot of stimuilus money. A big chunk is being used to fund research. In physical facilities we are using it to replace roofs, gutters and downspouts, and misc general repairs in buildings all over campus. It is extending the life of our buidlings, and helping educate young people, providing work for men and women in construction and in factories that supply the materials we use.

Seems pretty positive to me.

One man's pork is another's meat and potatoes.;)

Oh and our republican governor was against it but is getting all he can for Indiana, along with all the others.

Not saying that those things are not needed but shouldnt the tution fees charge to the students cover these costs? I am not againt the money being spent BUT I am against the use of tax payer dollars being used for a pay school.( whether a private K-12 or a university)

I've said that myself. Neither side is guilt free. Guess I'm just tired of the pretense, the my dog is better than your dog crap.

Like it or not, throwing stimulis money into the economy is one of the very few tools available to help create a softer landing. It really doesn't matter how it's used, the idea is just to slow down the bleeding a little. It would be nice if some of it was put to "good use."

Thats why I said "Conceptionaly the package was a good idea".
I haven'really heard any truly good use $ stories, I know the press concentrates on the negative.

Most are like one I heard on the news this week, one project created 7 jobs, and saved 7 jobs. At a net cost to us taxpayers of about a millions dollars

LONG PAUSE

PER JOB.

Craig 09-25-2010 06:10 PM

That's the point, it's not going to create or save jobs; that's not the intent. The goal is simply to stuff more cash into the economy and slow the decent of the markets (that money will have to be invested someplace), it has nothing to do with jobs. Once the markets stabilize, the private sector can worry about adding jobs. This is just good old "trickle down economics."

No free colleges BUT property tax funds the public education system here in PA. I would have a real problem if I had to pay taxes and then 15K a year in tuition!!

PS Actually there are free colleges.....It only costs you a few years of service to pay for the tuition.:D
