Are there any good cooks in the house?
One thing I miss about being over-sea's , is 'Gumbo'..Does anyone have a good recipe?
Can be any style..sea-food, chicken, sausage etc.. |

2 sticks butter. melt it. Add flour until thick. Cook until brown. Place aside.
1 stick butter melt in heavy pot. Add equal parts celery,green pepper, and onion. Cook till soft. Fill pot with chicken stock bring to boil. lower temp and allow to simmer. Flour and quick fry whatever meat you want to add, About same volume as veggies-1cup each then one cup meat) Throw into pot bring back to boil, Stir in SLOWLY the flour and butter(you may not need all of it) until thickened lower heat allow to cook down. As far as spices up to you. Salt pepper garlic power red pepper etc. It should be thick enough to stand up the spoon in. Serve over rice.
