Thinking about not voting this time

I have always voted in the past. I've always taken an interest in what the politicians say they will do. I've learned that what they do and what they say or promise are different things. Their promises seem really different from their unstated agenda.

With that frustration, why even bother to vote?

I know that is it my duty to vote (or choose) but I think this time I will exercise my right not to vote. It's like making me choose between two liars....what's the difference?

The guy I voted for last time turned out to be a socialist. He never claimed to be a socialist in his speeches before.

So you do not agree with all of Obamas policies. Would you have rather had the alternative?

While I do not agree with Obama on all issues, I do agree with his social beliefs more so then the republicans. I have no interest in abolishing abortion, I support the right of anyone to marry any person they choose. Beliefs such as those are more in line with one party then the other.

Voting is a matter of choosing the lesser of the evils presented. While it could be better, it could also be much worse. Had Palin/McCain won I think we would have been in a far worse position.

Always comes down to a lesser of 2 evils. The way I see it is - if you don't vote then you don't have a right to complain when things don't go as planned. I don't even live in my technical state of residence but I'm still absentee voting because I am flat out disappointed in one of the candidates, but truth be told I really don't like either of them.

I refuse to vote. The american political system is completely broken; fun to watch, but not deserving of my participation. IMO, american voters are being scammed.

Vote! Regardless of which party!

By not voting you are giving the politician more evidence that you do not care what they do to you!

There's enough apathy in America to not vote, without willfully adding to that shamefully apathetically low number, Ben.

Take the wife too, tell her what Skid said!

Not voting is likely one of the worst acts a citizen can be guilty of without having to face criminal or civil penalty. It is an affront to our values and to the sacrifices made to secure and preserve the ability to participate in our government.

It's just frustrating as hell. Kinda like when you turn the steering wheel to the right and the car by itself decides to go right or not.

If that is the case, why bother to drive.

Think it through Ben......

Our Founders staked their fortunes, liberty, AND their VERY LIVES for our freedom to vote!

If you don't vote, it's like giving the guy you hate two votes.

You know their are more than two political party's. People who don't vote are fools, and have no right to complain about the system.

If you don't like the choices provided by the main two party's vote for someone else. If enough people get off their lazy butt's and did that then we would have 3-4 party's in this country. But they don't they either don't care, or it makes them feel better to look down on the process.

The reason things don't change is because people don't want them to, its easier to do nothing.
