Making money with the TD?

So how would one go about making some extra money with a car? I was thinking that my TD is great for hauling crap, why not make little money doing it?

Seems like I see guys on the highway driving their personal(personal looking) vans with DOT numbers on them. I only assume they are delivery something. How about running auto parts around town/state?

Delivering newspapers seems like a drag... same with phone books. I keep looking for a redbox dvd kiosk job in my area but they seem hard to come by.

Pizza delivery??? Well I did that for 7 years in highschool/college. I can't for the life of me see how anyone makes money doing that these days, gas is too expensive. Plus the pizza guys keep getting shot/robbed/beat up around here. And you don't really need a large vehicle for that. In fact a POS beater is best, muffler optional.

W I D E L O A D: I think they are called truck pilots.. google makes that sound like a fulltime/hate the world type of job.

Dead bodies? I know in the not too distant past that a guy with an airplane could fly a dead body, seats removed, for hire. Probabably have to be a funeral director to do that with a car.

Advertising? Get in line. Google says people are lining up to have graphics put on their cars for money.

A european website is set up so you can book and rent a car that belongs to a private person. I dunno if I would like the idea of that.

Any ideas?

park it in a dark alley, recline the seat backs then rent it out to hookers.

pick it up in the morning. repeat.

this way, you keep the mileage down.

I concerned about the smell. Otherwise I like it.

Perfect mpg car for delivering pizzas in your spare time.

You could easily pick up $1,500 to $2K a month doing it.

Were I nearly broke OR in debt - which I've never been - I would be delivering pizzas tomorrow instead of sitting on my azz doing nothing. - as many do.

Don't know about that, probably be very lucky to get 18-20 MPG with fuel at about $3.10 a gallon right now, thats works out to .155 a mile just for fuel! A hundred miles a night is $300+ a month in fuel, and another $20 in oil & filter
change! But if someone's burning free fuel that's another matter!

Throw a box of tools in it and make some real money.
Mobile mechanic. A TD would make a nice service vehicle.

I do it in the 240D work on drilling rigs and rock crushers. The trunk is big enough to handle a lot of tools.
If I have a cylinder or big valve only then will I break out the 10mpg pickup.

Only down side is they see you drive up in a Mercedes so they rib you about being overpriced.

Doing this work on the weekend or evenings They're usually right about price.

Ya... NOT going to delivery pizza again. There is NO way to make money these days, IMHO. Even back "in da day" one had to close(4pm to 1am) 7 nights a week at several stores to make it works. Don't get me wrong.... you could make $125.00 on a Friday night working from 4pm to 9pm... biggest Christmas tip I got was $50 bucks. Bet then again I got regular "big" tips waiting tables too... something else I would never do again.
I can't seem to recall how many miles we did a night. It was a whole lot though.

Start a business and write off the mileage.
