They also didn't realize the health hazards of them until a long time after that

If they knew the dangers of x-rays, then things like this would never have been invented:

And the letters in "Google" have a much different bone structure than one would think.

According to this article and it might not be right, she died of carcinoma of the intestine. She also had an X-ray of her hand done but not mentioned much else.

It is not believed his carcinoma was a result of his work with ionizing radiation because of the brief time he spent on those investigations, and because he was one of the few pioneers in the field who used protective lead shields routinely.

Read again. With the exception of the X-ray of the hand, they're writing about the man himself there, not his wife.

So where did you read that she was the test pilot for his new inventions?

I've never read that anywhere, nor do I have any reason to believe it.

I never made any such claim; francotirador did.

No, it said HE died of carcinoma of the intestine. It doesn't say it in that article, but I learned some years ago that his wife died of exposure to radiation.

My bad. Misread he to she.

On THIS site it mentions that he died of cancer in the rectum. Seems to be little about his wife that google has pulled up. All it has is that she died after a long illness.

I would be real curious since all I saw was that one shot of her.

In my first radiology class we were taught that she died from the effects of radiation. That information was in the first chapter of the radiology text used in that class. I still have the text buried somewhere around here.

That would be interesting since it was mentioned that she had one exposure and that was a hand exposure. OTOH, if it is correct, she might have had many exposures or could it be radiation leakage? If so the husband was working more with it so wouldn't he have died first? Just curious.

What were you hoping to use it to see?
