Thank you very much!

I also want to thank those currently serving and the veterans beyond myself. The BIGGEST thanks go to the biggest heroes. These are the people who lost their Earthly lives on the battlefields to protect us and our way of life.

Thanks Dynalow, for starting the thread.

Yesterday, the History Channel released a new series titled "WW2 in HD". Previously unreleased footage of WW2 narrated by Gary Sinise. Over nine hours of extremely compelling stories about the men who fought bravely.

Five Stars.

I have the greatest of respect and gratitude for our past and present veterans.

Collectively, they are my heroes for making it possible to live free, and speak English instead a foreign language.

The republic is safe because of them. Ever since 1776!

A friend of mine died this year at the age of 95. He had been in the Normandy invasion, Korea and Veit-Nam. When he retired he was a one star General.

When anyone asked him what was his greatest accomplishment he would always say being able to get into his last uniform!

After he died his Priest told me that he never talked to anyone about what he had done. The results just spoke for themselves and that if he had accomplished anything it was only because of the people he served with.

The Priest did tell me that the General once said Normandy really was the longest day of his life, and that he had nightmares about it until the end of his life.

What's that old saying about the only thing that stands between us and defeat are rough men with guns who are willing to use them?
