Sold the Veggie Burban (a sad day)

Well, I sold the old 90 Suburban finally. It's had a cylinder head gasket\crack problem for a long time, though I've kept driving it locally and refilling the couple of quarts of water compression would blow out of the overflow. The plates are up the end of December, and I've needed a pick up for a long time, since the one my father in law passed on to us, as my wife put it, "Mine, not yours". Anyway, I've been driving the MB lately, and decided I needed to get the Burb off the Curb, so I gave it away for $700. The day I sold it, as sad as that was, my wife, who is 47, (I'm 52) texted me after her last final of the semester at the local community junior college, that she wasn't coming back. This is even more sad, since the 15th would be our 31st wedding anniversary. She has all kinds of reasons, none of them being men, and she says none of it relates to her going through menopause right now. (Right) So I'm setting here biding my time, hoping and praying that she will come out of this. Meanwhile, the Veggie Burban is no more, I'm sad and blue and mostly broke since my work comp case has drug out for almost 23 months, and this 5 bedroom house seems to be growing exponentially by the minute. And, the last bit of sad news is that I'm going to now be forced into selling the (her) 300D, which she now says is 'my' 300D. I need a truck to start moving all this stuff out of the money pit. This just hasn't been my week, fellas. If any of you diesel heads are praying folk, put me on your list. please.

Quick- before the dog dies, play the country song backwards.

Seriously tho, there's enough tribulation for everyone these days. While I've felt it, I still manage to smile, you will too.

I am so sorry for you!
I too just had to give away a beloved car (Rudolf) to the ex-wife.
I hope for you that if you still love her, she will come back.

If you need to talk, PM me...

Did yer wife let her rear grow too wide- anyway?

find a newer younger slimmer model, Til then stay away from those ridges out in the country with sheer dropoffs and also train tracks.

Some guys are afraid they will never leave.

Funny how a persons whole existance changes in so short a time. There is never a good time but with christmas approaching is perhaps the worse. If you have any older children perhaps have one of them talk to you wife.

Or as much as I personally dislike the process try to go through marriage consulting groups. Then if there are mental health issues picked up they might be dealt with. As the elder generations always quoted you have to work at marriage..It cannot or should not be taken for granted.

Separation and divorce seem to be picking up amoung people that have been together for a very long time. At one time this was far less common. It is a somewhat mute point but perhaps better at 52 years of age than 62.

My secret such as it was and still is. A busy woman will not find herself at the end of a situation or at loose ends. . She just does not have time to consider it.

It has been tough to enable this over the years but I managed. No I certainly do not fool her by this approach. Actually I suspect she has always been happy and grateful that I could assist in it happening. Or put out all the effort for her that was required just to enable it.

There is no his/hers either allowed by either party although we do not wear each others hats or undergarments. These members of the opposite sex can be a real bag of tricks.

Certainly I do not communicate my emotions as well as I should. She is aware of this shortcoming so keeps an eye on what I do to compensate for the defficiency. Most of us men are probably guilty of this to some degree.

moon- I asked for that, didn't I? Thanks for the words, guys. I appreciate the advice, barry. That was quite an earfull, but the timing is perfect. And pannzer, yes, sometimes I see visions of the Michelin man, but I'd learned to keep it to myself, cause she just wasn't worried about it. But I'm to blame for a lot of it. And...I really am the world's biggest *******. (I admit it). I'm coming out, here. But you guys love me for what I am. It's nice to know that there's still somewhere *******s are welcome. But the Big M dictates the rules when it comes to chemical blips and micro-memory details.
I swear, men, menopause is the devils last, best shot at blowing the foundation out of a good 30 year construction job.

oof!

we asses gotta stick together! (I've got over 40 cars in the yard, and believe me, I'm as big an ass as they come)

text break up of a 30+ year marriage...

be sure and talk to her. she may just be doing this to open communication. or it could be she's had enough and wants a different situation.

Damn, that's a rough patch. I don't have any sage bits of wisdom or advice, just keep plugging along! I've got 4 friends who have been through separation then divorce. Each one of them is happier now than they were when they were married. And each one felt like $h!t for that initial 6-12 months afterwards. Things sure seem to get better.
