Another camera thread

I just paid my red light ticket. Red for .29 seconds, going 26 in a 25 my friend in front of me called me to tell me his car was over heating. Missed the light. Any reasonable cop would have probably let me go, it was an accident.

But I love how the site you go to to pay the fine isn't even tied to the city, or the state. Its a private company, wow thats justice!

And the "RED MEANS STOP" on the top of my ticket coming from a private company made me laugh really hard. Almost as bad as predatory towing companies.

$95.00 + $3.95 credit card processing fee.

Enjoy your percentage City of Columbus, fix those goddamn pot holes.

You had not even crossed the stop line yet and it had already been red for .29 seconds and the other side green already or nearly green, which means it was YELLOW the entire time you approached the light. Not paying attention like that is when you T-bone someone in a honda and they end up dead.

Ticket well deserved.

The private company runs the cams, and take a percentage, then the rest goes to the city/state/etc.

Here's your friend the cams and flashes

Don't feel bad, back in the UK there are more cameras on the road than cars
I was "victim" to them in Edinburgh years ago as well...just part of the game The speed one are even worst, usually the cops set them up with only 1 miles difference, so even if you are driving with 31 on 30 miles zone you are still done for "speeding" and in the UK points for speeding on your license can increase your insurance for the next 3 years for up to 40%.

You're more than entitled to your opinion. For your information most, if not all traffic lights in Ohio are mutual red. My light being red didn't mean the other light was green. They were both red when I entered.

I ran the red light, thus I paid the ticket and didn't fight it.

However the state having a private company come after its citizens and removing the law enforcers from law enforcement is what I had a problem with. It was an accident I wasn't rushing to get to the next bar, my friend was in trouble and I f'ed up. Had I had that discussion with one of Columbuses finest he probably would have given me a warning.

But if the state can hire private companies to deem us guilty for crimes on the road, whats next?

Thumbs down Driving while on the phone

[QUOTE=DieselPaul;2612519]I just paid my red light ticket. Red for .29 seconds, going 26 in a 25 my friend in front of me called me to tell me his car was over heating. Missed the light. Any reasonable cop would have probably let me go, it was an accident.

Any reasonable cop would have given you a ticket for the red light and one for using your phone while driving.

Put your phone in the trunk or turn it off !! You could have killed some one.

Your friend should have got a ticket as well !!

Only idiots answer their phone while driving !!!!

Tests have shown that a person using a mobile while driving has the same driving ability as a moderate range drunk driver.

Over here the adds say "If you drink & drive you are a BL##DY IDIOT !!

The same applies to driving & using the phone.

Have a look on youtube for TAC clips.

I am with pawoSD on this one !!
