Without that, what other window dressing do you have that makes sense? Tell me, if my banker stole your money and I moved him to another branch, tell he what you would think of my bank. All he is doing is throwing up a few sacrificial priests, claim it is done by a few bad apples and move along without firing the person who perpetuated the mess. Law wasn't anywhere close to the priests. He was worse. He knew about it, could have stopped it but didn't. In fact, he hid the crimes, move the offending priest somewhere else, by LIES on their resume. Then later he claimed that he was acting in good faith on bad advice.

Maybe he has a point. After all, what Law did was wrong but surely you don't think he was all that bad. Law only lied, covered up the crimes of other men and pushed them onto another unsuspecting crowd. I mean, what are a few lies and misdeeds among friends, right?

Here is what I think the reason is. Had they fired Law and sent him to face charges, it would have been embarrassing and cost the church money. It's like having a bear chasing a bunch of people. You don't have to be the fastest. Just faster than the slowest guy. In this case, it was the lowly priests. Toss them to the bear, distract the bear and the rest of the group escapes.

So much for their ideals. What happened to telling the truth in spite of the bad consequences?
