Winter or summer diesel in socal?

Stupid question, can I expect to see the standard warm weather diesel or winterized diesel in southern California during this time of year?

We get summer fuel in Denver so I'm guessing southern California would be no different.

D2 is the norm, with the exception of Trucke maybe.

I don't think I've ever seen blended fuel in Denver, mine started just fine at about 0F this morning with local fuel.

Mine did too but I added PowerService after it started. A few years ago I took Denver fuel up into the mtns where it was 30 below. It gelled after 2 days. The tow truck driver told me the ratios at various elevations. A little in Idaho Springs, more at higher elevations and the most in Fraser and Winter Park. He obviously made a good living starting Denver diesels on Sunday mornings after the ignorant went to the mtns for the weekend. Since then, I've always added PowerService before going to the mtns in winter.

That's probably a good plan, I usually put in some PS if I expect to be someplace really cold. I don't bother at home, it always warms up within a day or two and I can use another car.

None of our equipment would start yesterday at -20 because of gelled fuel. Our fuel supplier sold us winter blend but now we know. This is the first time i was able to look in a fuel tank and see it gelled. http://www.wunderground.com/US/CO/Meeker.html
