My Rock Opera
It's been 3 years to the day since I found out that I got screwed and to mark the occasion I decided to compile some songs to tell the story in a bit of a multi-group rock opera. My inspiration came from Pink Floyds "The Wall" and Hooverphonic Presents Jackie Cane

As such three songs from the album made it into my compilation. I'll be explaining why I choose the various songs as well as going through my interpretation of some of the lyrics. (Obviously each song wasn't tailor made to this situation so I just had to work with what was available) The Chauffeurby Duran Duran http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5tL7e6B_xo Always a favorite track of mine it signifies part of what my job was in 2007. A chauffeur has great responsibility to ensure that his passengers get to their destination safely and in a timely manner. I took the job to heart and did it as professionally as possible. It was a responsible move (Investing as opposed to spending) the tone is upbeat and hopeful. However the 2nd verse is sadly, ironic foreshadowing. My first payment on the investments was about to arrive within a few weeks and I was going to diversify my portfolio. Walking into the office and finding out that everything was a lie. The fact that the line Shellshock repeats many times in the intro displays my inability to even think clearly that day. Then the line... A victim of your evil sin You've lost the hold you've had on me By causing the changes that you never see. Before that day if my boss gave me a job to do I would do it. Because of the extreme betrayal though I would never do a single thing for that man from that day forth. I wish I could say something, but I really don't know what else I can say. I know what has happened, and I can understand it better than any of these songs can tell. I am truly sorry for your loss, but have faith that you will be strong and triumph over this evil. I am sorry you will have to see his face again, but I hope it will be worth it, and you can see his face as you show him that you win, and he should be ashamed of himself and deemed absolutely worthless to the world.
