Twice over the last month I've posted my 79 SD for sale on Craigslist. I get the e-mail from them, open and hit 'publish' but the ad never shows up in a search. Anyone know what's going on? An ad I posted in Nov. shows up but not the recent ones. When I click on the link on the 'publish' page, I can see the ad.

Kerry, your ad is being ghosted by craigslist. How often do you relist it?

As I'm a dealer and list a bunch of cars, I've dealt with this before. Someone flags an ad for whatever reason, but its not deleted. You think you can repost the ad but in reality craigslist is just ghosting it to fool spammers. It has helped alot but the system is far from perfect.

Ways to get around it:

Try posting from a different email. That should do the trick. If you're locked into an account with your phone number, or don't want to use another one, there are other ways. Don't copy-paste your ad from the previous one. Re-write it using different wording in both the title and description.

People flag for the stupidest reasons and it really makes a problem for non-spammers. If they don't agree with your price people will flag it. Really odd.

I'll try using different text. How do you know if your ad has been flagged? Relisting about once a month or six weeks.

You don't unless it gets removed or you see the after effects (ghosting) etc.

Direct Copy/Pasting from a word document I hear can trigger it too. Somehow it knows.
