Red skys in the morning, sailors take warning...

Glad I'm not on the water today. I walked out the front door just in time for this. It may be ominous if you follow the sailor's lore, but it sure is purty! Not a bad way to start the week.

Edit: shoot, that should have be sky. <--Hey, almost the same color.

It was amazing how quickly the color came and went. 5 minutes, earlier when I wheeled the garbage can out, it was just grey and by the time I got to work 5 minutes later the color had already passed. I was hoping to get up on the roof and take some more pics. I snoozed, I losed.

This freezing rain crap sucks! I'm going back up to play on the work roof again to clear up the drains. Knock on wood, but I'm doing it anyway.

Wow is that red! That's awesome.

I wish I had thought to go back in and grab my wife's camera but I was already running late so my iPhone was the best I could do.

very nice. at least you had a camara.

the sunrise I remember most was driving west in Indiana at sunrise with the leaves just turned orange. the sun was coming behind me through a red sky and lighting up the leaves and the sky. wish I would have had a camara. that was way before digital.

Dawn and the early morning sky is the great unsung, (and mostly unknown) bonus of driving school bus. I have seen many awesome beautiful sunrises while picking up the kids. The Lord mentions the red morning sky in the Gospel. Mat 16:3 And in the morning, [It will be] foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O [ye] hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not [discern] the signs of the times?

With 50K+ miles under my belt on the open ocean I have to say the saying holds little truth to it. Much better to listen, look and hold a wet finger out in the wind to judge the days weather.
