Nestle Nutrition To Close Minn. Plant

. . .ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. (AP) -- A state official says Nestle Nutrition plans to phase out nearly 250 jobs as it prepares to shut down its St. Louis Park plant by the end of next year.

. . .The state Department of Employment and Economic Development says Nestle filed a notice regarding the closure on Friday.

. . .KSTP-TV says the first phase of layoffs is scheduled to begin June 30. A DEED spokesman says he's not sure how many of the plant's 243 jobs will be cut then.

. . .The plant is set to close by December 2012.

Nestlé opens renovated factory in Chiapas, Mexico

A revamped Nestlé factory which will manufacture Coffee-mate and nutritional products was inaugurated last week.

The Chiapa de Corzo factory in the Mexican state of Chiapas – which now locally produces Coffee-mate coffee creamers having previously imported from the United States The renovation comes under the MXN 100 million (over CHF 7.9 million) investment in Chiapas announced by the Company in 2009. Taking nearly 12 months to complete, the enhanced facility has generated around 150 direct jobs.
