Like repairing a overflowing toilet
Fixing a busted pipe
Maintaining your air and heat

And the simple things like changing light bulbs or at least making sure they work.

I suspect it had a little help.

When I was in Boston there was a run-down hotel near my office called the "hotel essex." For a long time the sign said "hotel sex."

I spent a summer in Gainesville, FL, and lived across the street from a Krispy Kreme. That whole summer, their flashing neon sign read "HOT DOUG NUTS" as the "h" was burnt out.

I have also seen a SEARS reduced to "EARS," and a ROAD RANGER transformed into "ROAD ANGER."
