I have a tough time believing Emminem is cruising the 'hood in a Chrysler 200.

I have to wonder who the target audience is; little white boys who think they are tough but can't get daddy to buy them a decent car?

Is "imported from America" just a ploy to tack on an extra import fee for domestic cars?

I like it, now GM needs to fire back.

I'm really loving this resurgence of the US auto industry, hopefully it can become the standard of the world again.

Up until the 60's Chrysler and GM built better luxury cars than the Germans. Before the war to, Packard and Duesenberg were better cars than anything from Europe.

The Europeans were playing with big straight 6's while Cadillac and Packard offered V12's and V16's.

I must say as much as I cannot stand Chrysler this commercial was amazing. What a great job they did on this. Thumbs up. The commercial moved me I must say.

Also there Hispano-Suiza and Rolls Royce where making V12's as well. Reason why there where not many V12's or V16's is because it was so unpracticle. Europeans had forsight and realized the demand was low.

My favorite Super Bowl commercial. The whole time I was telling everyone "I've seen that," "I know where that is," "Been there."

Still I wouldn't live in the Detroit area again for anything and that is saying alot. The plant where I am working is closing in 3 months. There are several job openings in Detroit doing exactly what I do that pay more money than I am making now.

I heard alot of bad about Detroit. We live down in Florida in the summer so people from all over the USA move there and a guy who lives in our neighborhood is a retired poilet for UPS and lived in Detroit his entie life. He went back to see his family and said he asked them to move out now. The value of homes he said no joke you could buy a home for $50. Not kidding. You couldnt pay me enough to live there. Even the downtown area is falling apart. There are videos on youtube that show the city in ruins. It will bring a chill up your spine. When Lyndon B. Johnson had the idea of the great society back in the 60's they used Detroit as the model city for it.......I wonder what happined there?

A slick video by a low class white rapper does NOT convince me that a city of $50 houses, populated by desparate, poor, unemployed, black people at the end of their tether, and known as the murder capital of America, does NOT instantly become a "destination" city for tourism, employment, or a desireable place to reside just because of his video.

Neither does the video make me want to suddenly run out and trade in a perfectly good almost show condition twenty year old 1991 560SEC AMG on a brand new 2011 Chrysler 200, (whatever that is), either.

If I was made to live in this area and endure the weather and other conditions in the area, why not Southfield Hills or Bloomfield, the good suburbs?

The pictures of downtown Detroit I have seen lately make me think of Berlin in May 1945, frankly.

And with worse weather too.

I am sorry, San Francisco works better for me. Even though its houses cost about 50 dollars with at least 4 more zeroes added on for the VERY cheapest ones.

Well since we all drive luxury cars that came out of the ashes... literally... I think there is hope for Detroit.

Detroit may have to bulldoze abandoned houses, but at least there are no bomb craters in the floor at Chrysler.

That said, now if they could just keep their workers sober during work hours........

My take:

Damage control for the two recent black eyes Chrysler was given by their Jefferson Avenue employees. You know, the drinking and smoking weed on lunch break stories that hit the news in the last couple of months.

I wonder if Chrysler twisted the UAW local's arm for part of the cost? 2 minute spot = 12 million!

"Imported from (a foreign country) Detroit". 'Bout sums it up in a perverse sort of way!

First of all, I always thought M&M was candy. Second of all, I would not buy a Chrysler product ever again. Just too many serious problems. Why did they offer a 7 year 70,000 mile warranty on the power train back in the 80s? Because the cars were junk and no one would buy them without the warranty. Chrysler transmission in the FWD cars and mini vans were the laughing stock of the industry, same with the air conditioning set up.

Chrysler has had so many automotive innovations over the years I could never figure out why their quality was so poor.

And SirNik84.....those bombed out factories were resurrected by Germans...not UAW workers smokin' weed on their lunch break.

But it got you talking. That's the goal of an advertising campaign, and usually the more controversial it is, the louder the buzz.
