Japan earthquake caused by MMGW??
 

As there is a serious thread on the tragedy in Japan, I thought it best to start a new thread for this one.

I see where the MMGW crowd has been using twitter to try to make some causation between the alleged MMGW and the Earthquake, or sucking oil out of the earth's crust.
No facts or mechanism; just the assertion.

To me, its beyond ridiculous.
What do you all think?

I think it's ridiculous you actually read these remarks on twitter.

It's more likely related to the shift in the earth rotational axis. As the shift seems to be accelerating, we could be seeing a lot more of this in the near future as the north pole moves closer and closer to moscow at a faster and faster rate.
On a side note, the US just might win the 'cold' war with that happening.... :P

How would Making Middle Grades Work cause and earthquake?

There are uneducated fools everywhere. Does their delusion mean that AGW is a complete farce?

There are folks who believe that oil is produced deeps with the bowels of the earth. Um-huh. How much hydrogen exists in its natural state deep underground? Do such people discredit geologists?

cmac2012, No, I do not believe this discredits MMGW.
I still do not believe that MMGW is true, but this ridiculousness does not say anything about those who sincerely do--except those who tried to make it an issue.

It is more ridiculous than those who claim that a cold winter discredits AGW.

But as for people making a political issue out of nonsense, just look around you. It won't take long to spot an example, even if you miss half of them.
