MBCA Mercedes Parts Discount

Hello

Can anybody tell me if Canadian dealerships (particularly Edmonton) offer discounts to MBCA members. If so how much?

Thanks

I read a post today in the tech section about receiving a 20%-30% on parts if you are a member of the Mercedes Club of America. Is this true?
How much does it cost to be a member of this club?
How do you join?
Thanks.

MBCA Membership

You can check out the membership process and benefits by calling MBCA at 800-637-2360 or at their website:

www.mbca.org

Membership is $45 for one year and includes a six issue subscription to "The Star". In my opinion, the benefits of membership are enhanced if you have an active local section and attend their events. I have heard that some dealers offer a discount to MBCA members. Personally, I have never had a dealership offer me a discount, but I guess some do.

Check prices through partsshop or fastlane here. you will see most are a great deal.

To me the MBCA membership isn't worth it yet. Most get it just for the star magazine.

The MBCA membership gets you only a 10% discount at dealers. At least at 2 of my local dealers. Like Ashman and Longston mentioned, the prices here at Fastlane are still much better. There may still be some parts that are only available through a dealer and then it's nice to get any discount you can. I bought the passenger side power window switch for my SD, at a local dealer, and it cost only $23 with my MBCA discount. I thought that wasn't too bad considering it was a style of switch that MB stopped using in 1980.

Dealers are not obligated to give discounts to MBCA members. You need to contact your local dealer.
A little known fact is that MBCA is NOT sponsored by or affiliated with MB. MB does recognize the club.

I don't know what your definition of "sponsored by" is, but MBCA does receive monies from Mercedes-Benz in the form of an "MBCA grant", at least they used to (FY 1999).

The dealership in Victoria does offer a 10% discount to members. Three Point Motors also offers a location in Nanaimo, BC which may give a discount, but I don't know. Of course, Three Point has never had any parts that I needed except an oil filter and a wiper blade but they can get anything given enough time.
Fastlane on Mercedesshop still won't deliver to Canada but Partsshop will. They have to use a customs broker, (usually?), which can add a lot to the bill.

Call Calibre Mercedes 1-800-252-6877. 25% off.

Heres an example: the grill for my car lists for $500, Calibre was $295 and I had the next day for $10 shipping!!

All the way from Cal to Mass.

Our local dealer (Michigan) gives no discount at all to MBCA members.

Dweller,

My comment was questioning whether an MBCA Grant was considered "sponsorship"....

Longston said it best:
