Anyone here have Vibram Five Fingers?

I have a pair of KSO's and love them.

I want to get another, thicker soled pair and I can't decide between the newly released "Speed" or the new "Bikila LS".

Speed

Bikila LS

I'm leaning toward getting the Bikila LS due to the lacing setup. I'd be interested in hearing what other VFF owners would choose and why.

Thanks!

I use them for P90X. I was using my Airwalks which look just like the Converse All-Stars, but the uppers ripped in several spots after just 4 months, plus the sole is wearing through already.

I tried other expensive sneakers, but I was never happy with them. If I tied them tight enough to keep my foot from rolling inside the shoe during lateral movements, my toes were smashed together.

The VFF's are the first shoe I've had that I can do all my workouts without thinking about my feet.

Report back to me on what you think of those shoes when you are dealing with metatarsalgia and Morton's neuroma.

When we was barefoot and cavemen, nobody lived long enough for feet to be a problem. Nowadays, it's different. Modern feet last too long to be abused with inadequate support and cushion.

I used to wear Reefs or go barefoot. At 55+ I'm now paying the price. Ouch.

^^^^ Good point.

My knees are junk so I've been tempted to try them for running, but would want to read up on long term use.

When I played basketball in middle school, the issue shoe was a Chuck Taylor. I still wear them, have a vintage pair from the 70s in white and a brown pair I got a few years ago. When I was in university, the punk girls used to wear the black ones.

They're good for deadlifts/squats other standing heavy lifting because they're flat (you don't want an arch) and washable. Some people do it w/o shoes, not allowed in the gym nor is it hygenic. Plus they're cool.

Co-worker has them and sometimes wears them around the office (she always rocks high heels but opts for comfort while in her cubicle or working out.

I wondered as well why they don't call them "five toes"?

I picked up a pair of KSO's a couple days ago and finally took them for a short run. They're interesting. In less than a mile and a quarter, I got tired in places I forgot I had. The shoes definitely let you know if your foot strike it wrong (mine is), so I think they're going to force me to improve my form.

I ended up buying the Bikila LS last night. They are awesome. The speed lace system makes for a much more comfortable fit and I like how they look more like a sneaker than the KSOs.

The Speed looks like it will be in the US as early as June but there are no guarantees so I didn't want to keep waiting.

My wife decided to get a pair of Sprints too. This morning we did our 1.5 hour YogaX workout and she said she now understands why I like VFFs.
