Good Memory - I forgot about that commercial. The article for parade said it had a "Imported From Detroit" tailgate sign..............

In the pre DC days at that.
High and drunk. Also on their 5 week paid vacations to Amsterdam. Pre DC, post DC, if your Benz was assembled on the other side of the pond, it was built by union labor. Most of the suppliers are also unionized.

I would have helped to put it out, plus my Chevy would be more than able to pull that float without bursting into flames.

I hear they are having similar issues with the NEW venerable Grand Cherokee. Things like drive train shudder and body fitment issues.

Chrysler Corporation no longer exists in reality. It died in 2000 when they let Jim Holden run the place and he started to squeeze it dry. Cerberus finished the job and Fiat is eating what is left of the carcass.

When you eat a carcass,, the result of your actions is, sadly, ***** and that's what's left now.

I look for selected old school MoPars and Benzes and that's what I'll drive. Maybe also a Citroen, but they are getting harder to find.
