Newest Vatican PR fiasco

A bishop who passes along pedophile priests to new parishes with fresh kids to assault gets promoted to the Vatican. A bishop who suggest women and married men should be ordained as priests gets fired.:confused::

"The Vatican ousted an Australian bishop on Monday who had called on the church to consider ordaining women and married men. . ."

They no longer have an ounce of moral credibility as far as I am concerned. They are a morally bankrupt and corrupt institution that needs to be done away with. Why people give them any support is beyond my understanding.

Well the bible doesn't say anything about diddling little kids, so it must be OK. The bible also doesn't say anything about a priest not being able to marry, that was a man made rule of the Vatican. But it's OK, the Pope is just as smart as god, or something; so he would definitely add a rule about diddling little kids if it were "frowned" upon *wink* *wink*

(Thought process of a typical pederast priest)

and the Catholic bashing is perpetuated by people who cherry pick information. Not all priests are deviants, just like not all community college professors are pompous buffons .....

Its still the face of the organization, and the organization transmits down to local churches. Imagine if our government covered up something like this--I think they do some pretty dumb stuff from time to time (okay, constantly) but nothing on this level. Furthermore, the abuse is not limited to one or two occurrences, its everywhere. This is seriously f'd up stuff

It's not the "deviants" that are the major problem; it is the entire sleazy organization that protects them, moves them, and allows them to find new victims. That is the scum that should be prosecuted.

So all the Baptist are like Westboro Baptist? Episcopalians are all Gay bashers? All the Scientologist like John Travolta? Uhmm No:rolleyes:

One thing I have learned with age is if someone has a religion, believes in a supreme being, takes care of their family, That's there business and none of mine. I no more likely to show up at Westboro Baptist or St Pauls Catholic or my neigbors living room and try to tell these groups of people how to run their lives/business/religion. If your not Catholic you simply don't have a dog in this fight.

Thats not the point I was making. Is the Baptist church espousing and mishandling the WB fiasco, defending their priests and standing behind their "brethren"? I have not heard anything but negative reactions to those nutjob protestors, even in the churches. The Catholic Church has basically acknowledged the extreme immorality of their priests and simply moved them around (in many cases).

I went to a Catholic elementary/middle school in the 90's. I was there for nearly five years, and the preists/deacons were always the same. Everyone liked them, etc. Then one day they are ALL gone. Transferred to another diocese with no explanation or notice. This was before a lot of the scandals started coming out. You don't have to be a genius to put 2+2 togethr.

The principal of my father's Catholic high school, halfway across the country, was outed as a molester nearly 40 years after my father graduated.

For every case that was brought out publicly, there are probably 20 more that weren't. Sad.

Really? What information is cherry picked? Perhaps you can explain Cardinal Law then? I would love to hear your side as to why he was not tossed out but instead the "Catholic Shuffle" was done and he was posted to the Vatican. Doesn't the fact that he lied about the priests as he shuffled them around count for something? As a Cardinal, he is basically a prince of the church, is he not?
