Holy over-reaction Batman. They thought the guy was standing too close to Ms. LaBelle's luggage and proceeded to move him away from it. Video doesn't look good for them. Dude is suing.

I saw Ms. LaBelle warm up for Richard Pryor in Seattle in '79. Good show, hot lady. She burned up the stage.

Wow a cheap entertainer VS an officer, why isn't she in jail?

To bad officers are not allowed to carry their side arms as they should be. The business end of a 92fs would have driven away those hired thugs.

Completely out of line all right. Her luggage was in danger?! Jeez, you could see the guy was in his own zone, talking on his cell phone. One amazing part is how West Point demoted him on the word of the star struck Houston police.

I just hope her pockets are deep enough for him to get a good settlement.

Patti LaWho?

Would anyone even know who she was if they saw her?

cmac2012 06-04-2011 09:20 PM

She was never that big of an item IIRC. When I saw her, I hadn't heard of her before but she put on a hot show, sort of Tina Turner like. Really hot way of dancing while she sang.

But her bodyguards were clearly way, way too much into self-importance, and that part of the police posing with her for pictures was just whack.

Something tells me the young man is going to relieve her of some excess cash and rightly so.

As long as the officer remembers to take off that infernal safety-decocker first. Pretty sure they're M9's anyhow.

And if I'm not mistaken, a third year west pointer is NOT an officer. Not yet.

Yeah, I don't think she ever really hit the big time. Probably on the cusp, though (not my kind of music so not really sure). Without a security detail, she probably wouldn't garner a second look. But that's probably the purpose of the body guards.

I just want to know what was in her bags that needed guarding so well.
The first thing that should have happened would have been a bag search of every one involved.
My guess is that the second rate unknown star probably would have had a little bit of "pick me up" white powder in her bags to get her jumping on stage & the goons guarding her probably were zoomed up on steroids as well.
I hope the kid gets a good 6 figure sum for his trouble, exonerated of any wrong doing, demotion over turned & goes on to do his country proud as an officer.
The star struck police officer needs to be put on point duty in some unfriendly part of town.
We will have to wait & see how this goes.

I wonder what was in Ms. Labelle's luggage that would have her give the greenlight for her Rottweilers to do some road work on that drunk kid.

Ugggh! I'd rather be beaten by body guards ANY day than serve in the Infantry!:P

Artillery, babee! "Move, shoot, communicate" The Infantry WALKS, Artillery RIDES!
