Cheerwine anyone?
Love the stuff. Especially in the bottle with real cane sugar. I can get it locally but it's overpriced!

Check and see if they have it at walmart. They do in VA.

Regularly consumed by the swamp donkeys here in coastal SC.

Cheerwine? Man, I haven't seen that stuff since I was 13 or so, growing up in North Carolina. Only the little country stores carried it. I used to drink that when I was working in tobacco during the summers. I'm surprised it's not more popular.

I've never seen it or heard of it, Cool looking though, I'm going to see if it's available here

Moxie? thats a blast from the past, Do you know if they had GreenRiver?
|
My best friend buys the stuff in bulk when he visits his grandparents in South Carolina and rations it through the year, drinking it only for the finest of occasions in Connecticut. It's kind of a joke between us using it like others would use a fine wine.

I've never been in a world market, always been wanting to, theres one in town. Have you tried Jones?
|
Great stuff. It and SunDrop is made right here in Gastonia, NC - a stone's throw from vstech and myself. It may even fuel our diesels, there's so much bad for you shtuff in it :D. Makes a great summer day refresher though...

never heard of it! Is it like cherry coke?
I usually stay away from sodas.. if i drink something with calories I make it booze. |
What is it?
Same as Ara I won't drink something with calories unless its booze, why waste the calories on anything less?:D |
Cheerwine is cherry soda, plain and simple. It has enough sugar to give an elephant diabetics. It has been made in Salisbury, NC since 1917 and is considered by many to be the state drink of the Carolinas. They even had a Cheerwine flavored donut at Krispy Kreme shops down here. It is available all over the south and in some specialty stores elsewhere and it is curiously exported to Norway because the company owner has some family connections in that country.
Long ago, favorite southern sodas such as Mountain Dew and Dr. Pepper were not available except in the south. Another southern concoction is Blenhiem ginger ale which has been made here in South Carolina since 1903. It has a big bite unlike the usual Canada Dry and others. Cheerwine and Blenhiem are the favorite drinks of Larry the Cable guy, if that tells you anything about it. That is, favorite NON ALCOHOLIC drink! |
