Hot guitarist I never heard of

I heard this feller on the NPR show "Thistle and Shamrock." A French guitarist, Pierre Bensusan, playing Si Bheg Si Mhor, an oft covered song by the great Irish harpist O'Carolan:

I am in favor of hot girl pianists and will visit said parlor.

However, I must be at pains to point out that this thread is about Turlough O'Carolan, kind sir. Irish music is very serious business and I will not brook this attempted thread steal.

I'd heard tunes by O'Carolan over the years but never looked into his history:

After being blinded by smallpox, at the age of eighteen, O'Carolan was apprenticed by Mrs MacDermott Roe to a good harper. At the age of twenty-one, being given a horse and a guide, he set out to travel Ireland and compose songs for patrons. For almost fifty years, Carolan journeyed from one end of the country to the other, composing and performing his tunes. It is said that weddings and funerals were often delayed until he could arrive to perform.

A wedding singer star is in an enviable position. Wedding are, ahem, mating rituals, and bridesmaids are often filled with wonder by some wizard tickling the strings in some unexpected manner.
