Carmageddon

What Happens When You Shut Down the 405?

The 405 will be closed for 53 hours from Friday night to Monday morning to demolish the south side of the Mulholland Drive Bridge.

I wonder if somebody will be filming the sequel to "405: The Movie"

That reminds me of the classic Alan Funt ' Hidden Camera ' episode where they put up a sign saying something like " New Jersey Closed"....
and showed the reactions of people... lots of them turned around and went back the way they came from.... LOL

They've been talking up this BS for so long that nobody will even try to get close to that part of LA. They've done this several times in the Bay Area with Bay Bridge shutdowns. People simply adjust their lives for a couple of days and life goes on.

I gotta larff. The big discussion around here is whether the township should take ownership of a decrepit 150 year old one lane bridge and be responsible for its maintenence; or deed the bridge to the state, who will replace it with a modern structure that will allow a fire tank truck to cross it.

Drivers seeking to avoid gridlock during Los Angeles' planned closure of Interstate 405 this weekend can fly over the freeway for $5 or less. JetBlue has announced four Saturday flights between Long Beach Airport and Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, calling the service a "planepool" between the San Fernando Valley and the beach.
