Antique Fans!

This is one I picked up in CT for $15. I need to restore it.

Ah, yes, safety-be-damned. My grandmother had a house full of those things. We used them to torture Star Wars figures and such. Wish I'd kept a few of them.

cool fan. I got a ge that I use on a regular basis. Kind of sounds like an airplane from a distance.

Are the blades made of brass?

I dont think its bakelite. Did you touch it, or put a magnet to it? I have seen a lot of those antique fans, never one with a bakelite blade.

Try scraping the edge of it and see what shines through. You might be surprised what you see.

Its not brass or metal. Its some sort of plastic with fiber in it.

I'm an antiques fan, but I'm not really a fan of antique fans. That one's cool though.

I bet you could toss a turd thru those ugly Dyson things and nothing would happen.

In generations to come, "When the $h!t hits the fan...," will become completely meaningless.

Good find, the wife has an antique shop and buys stuff at Good Will for $2 and sells the stuff for $20+. Goodwill is one of her best sources for stuff to sell.
