My Mac Monitor crapped out on me today. Hell I've only been using the thing for 15 years.

A couple of years ago I had to move my 603e to the garage to make room for my iMac. The 603 still runs fine. Eventually I'll remove the HD and drop the thing into a dumpster.

CRT (glass) monitors seem to last forever. Newest CRT we have here is a 2004 model. Trouble with them is that they slowly degrade and you don't realize how bad they are until the eyestrain is killing you. The LCDs we have are dying after 5 years or so. That's ok, after 5 years of constant use the CRTs aren't worth looking at either.

I haven't owned a computer that long, this iMac is only a few months old.

It was a very large monitor and very very heavy. It looked like a TV set.

Some of the big 22" glass jobs came in over 120lbs. We used to have a bunch of them and I have a bad knee from moving them to prove it.

I upgraded to this monitor in April...it is very good for the money. I don't know what kind of output Macs have though, might need some funky adapter knowing apple.
