Looks like DADT is finally history

Military officials to certify that they're ready to repeal DADT

Senior defense officials tell NBC News that the Pentagon will announce tomorrow that both Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and all of the Joint Chiefs have certified that the military is ready to repeal "Don't Ask Don't Tell."

Yes but the difficult part comes next. Getting the people to accept it

I am still trying to get my head around the 'Kinder, gentler machine-gun hand' concept laid down by one of those good ole boys from Tejhas.

They accepted minorities and they accepted women. They will accept gays as well. Besides, gays have been in the military since the military existed. Nothing has changed.

They are accepting. The process is slow and not even completed. I wouldn't bet that I will see it come to the point of not mattering in our lifetime. You cannot legislate or make rules to ensure that feelings can change.

Personally I don't give a hoot if someones gay or not....but I don't want it in my face. And yeah....that applied to your hetro serial players just as well (try living with one of those).

If someones thing is wearing is wearing frilly pink panties....ok....but don't go prancing around the barracks wearing nothing else.

I was wondering how long it would be before an idiotic post like the one above would be made. How much longer do you have to live boneheaddoctor? The sooner your generation dies off the better the world will be.

Like your idiotic post I see....perhaps the world would be a better place without troublemakers like you that can't stand that people are entitled to have opinions YOU might not share.

Does the military still use bars of soap? I would think liquid would have taken over.

Hmm, better check those USS Enterprise XO videos again . . .

It's mainly the older generation. Even young adolescent rednecky boys eventually grow out of it. But old farts don't. It's ok; I know you can't help it.
