Punish the wife?
My good friend, Art, bought his wife a really nice MB 2005 S500 a few years ago. It is black with that beautiful saddle tan leather. It only has 55,000 miles on it, garage kept and detailed monthly. Art put $3500 into it a few weeks ago...ball joints, new tires and brake pads and hoses, major tune up, etc. Art had to go out of town for a few days and when he returned, he found that his wife had traded this beautiful car in on a....gulp...Cadillac STS!
Art would like to know what is the fitting punishment for such a transgression. Or will owning a Cadillac be punishment enough?

Simple. Buy the wife a week long package deal in Hawaii. Trade the Crapolac for a 2005 Kia or Saturn. Problem solved. 'Course he might consider learning the phone numbers of the local call girls for the next couple of months.

I'd guess they don't talk to each other very much.

MS Fowler,
Naw, they have a great relationship---55 years of marriage, 7 kids, boat load of grandkids. He didn't mind that she traded the MB but for a Cadillac STS?? V-6 and ugly as a mud fence? Hot enough for you in Maryland? O'Malley could probably fix that for ya.

He bought her a car. It was her car. Apparently she didn't like it as much as he did. She sold her car and get herself a new car. No punishment; it was her car to do as she pleased with it. On top of that, it sounds like he should have asked her what she wanted and perhaps taken her shopping for a car prior to buying the Mercedes; she might have gone straight to the STS in the first place.

Never mind. 55 years of marriage should be punishment enough!

Accept it; laugh and be totally cool about the whole event.
Cars come and go, but a good wife, friend and life companion is priceless. She obviously didn't care for the Mercedes anymore and it probably wasn't a surprise to Him. .

The wife originally picked out the MB because it had "pretty seats."
I'm kinda bummed because they didn't give me first crack at buying it. Actually, Art is OK with it. Whatever mama wants! If momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!

I think Cadillac ownership is its own punishment. Oddly, my dad loves them and has had at least one and as many as three at a time since about 1987.

I think I would take her and the STS and trade them both in for another MB. Not sure if the wife would reduce the value of the trade or not.
