They've only made it to make their environmentally friendly numbers look a bit better...

Why not, if they can tune the suspension so that its a fun car to drive. I know Toyota most likely wouldn't do such a thing.

i checked no i would not buy, but on second thought.... what I REALLY want is that FIAT 500. My local Dodge dealer has one to show people but they can't sell em till they get a showroom built. Aston-Martin Cignet? Sure, why not.

The Fiat 500 is a good little car. Personally i'd wait to buy one to see if any quality issues come up......

I am in the market for a new car and the 500 was on my list...until I looked at the price. Making it comparable to any of the other subcompacts (option-wise) bumps it up to about 19k. That paired with absolutely no finance incentives right now is just about guaranteeing a sales flop. In comparison I can get a Mazda2 for about 15 with better options as standard, paired with 0% APR. The Mini Cooper is priced similarly to the 500 but is actually a larger car with proven reputation. So, basically they're charging out the wazoo for the "fashion" of the item when most people in that market for a subcompact are probably strapped for cash to begin with. I like the 500 but I'm not about to throw a ton of money at one.
