Amazing!

As an old timey "collegiate style" wrestler the rules in Greco Roman are baffling. That move is amazing, the more so because it was completely unexpected I imagine. I am not sure how you combat it either.

When I grew up as an adolescent there was an understanding, never spoken, that the high-testosterone boys had a quality that was recognized and emulated and respected.

I mean, in my world (middle-class, midwestern, middle-of-the-century, etc) boys wanted to grow up to be men and they were looking for guidance in doing so.

Now if that wrestler did not epitomize an aspect of classical masculinity then I've been deluding myself (here's the chance for certain folks to ridicule me).

I mean he DOMINATED that opponent and then basically said, "allright, who's next."

Wow; what a stud.

He may have flipped his opponent over, but to no particular avail.

They landed in the "passivity zone" and got a warning to come back to the center of the mat.
Neither did he get his opponent's both shoulders to the floor.

Much ado about nothing. Nice move though.

Passivity and Protection Zones

The red circle that surrounds the circumference of the wrestling area is known as the “passivity zone.” The one meter between the passivity and protection zone is considered to be “in bounds.” When the action moves into this area, wrestlers are warned to keep the wrestling in the center of the mat. The space outside of the passivity zone is called the “protection zone” and is considered out of bounds. In order to ensure that wrestlers are safe if the action continues out of bounds, this space must extend at least one and one-half meters past the passivity zone boundary.

Your interpretation is not quite correct. He responded to the ref's whistle.

American's are so easily impressed. I didn't think you are one of them, Carl.
Online front pages are full of this stuff. What's next? A cat & a dog playing ping pong with each other?

Dominated, yes or no.

Let's vote.

I did not say win.

But I'm just enjoying his performance.

Kinda like when Larry Bird may the shot, while falling out of bounce over the top of the backboard, from behind the board.

No points we given - but everyone heard the message, "you want a part of me, here I am."

Knowledgeable wrestling people may not be impressed but I sure am (limited American that i am).
