That's the spirit. The fact that no successful country has a small g'ment shouldn't deter us from seeking one. We should consider, instead, the example of Somalia, or some of its neighbors.
Our federal g'ment is responsible for our (relatively) clean air, water and safe food, and medicine; and don't forget our national security, which would include the interstate highway you use on your commute to work.

If our forefathers had kept their aspirations to only those things which had been successfully demonstrated in Europe, where would we be today?

If you envision the future as adequately defined by the past, then you are a conservative, by definition. Genuflect to the nearest stature of William Buckley. Demonstrate your obeisance!

Why do folk like you confuse SMALLER government with NO government? What a stupid argument! Did I EVER say I advocated no government? The opposite, equally stupid argument would for me to say you must want everyone to work for the government.

You've made some stupid arguments in the past, like questioning the need for the FDA.
I'm unaware there's anyone else like me, so that's another bad argument on your part.

I question a lot of things. Its part of a continuous evaluation process that has become a life-long habit. Questioning the way things are done can lead to improvements. Sure, I questioned the need for the FDA, and you made a pretty good reply.

He also pointed out some of the problems that would likely result in a shut down of the gov.--

You make me keep my dictionary close at hand.

What's the name of the critters that live in the eyelash hair follicles?
