Yeah its just a correction.

Lately my investment strategy of guns and real estate seems to be doing pretty good. Guns are doing good, can't help but wonder if its a bubble.

I have wondered the same -- I suspect that when the pendulum swings back the other way, the gun market will soften.

I was a bit bummed that the S. Korean Garands and Carbines were not allowed to be imported for sale. A glut of Carbines might soften that market up so I could grab another one of those!

I wouldn't really mind if it softened, I have backed off buying the WW2 stuff because it is just so nuts.

Tell me about it. Compare K98 prices now with those, say, 5 years ago. Yikes!

Yeah I want a nice K98 but I don't want to drop a G note on one!

Its because of the Band of Brothers and The Pacific, WW2 stuff is now hugely popular to collect.

Look at Garands too, big bucks!

As are uniform pieces and the like. A fixed bale front seam helmet can set you back a few hundred bucks; those things were fairly common at flea markets and junk stores when I was a kid. I have one I picked up at a flea market in Belgium for about $5 in the mid-80's.

I visited the Bois Jacques outside Bastogne a couple of years ago and ran into two Dutchmen with metal detectors. They said the woods in the area used to be covered in rusting relics, and the films changed that in a hurry. Now, you're lucky to unearth something even with a metal detector.

Correct it is a bubble. I have been using up my ammo and will replace when the electorate calms down. But show me a finely built American made gun and I got sucker written on my forehead.

The wife and I invested in antiques. Later this year we will find out if that was a sound investment.

Got a 1920-50 upright Steinway or equivalent for sale?

I have four of those. Bought them at about 180 a piece if I remember correcttly. Now they are about 500 in the stores. That's about the only guns I have that have increased in value. I guess I'm not as much a conniseur as a gun nut

Mine are just fine. If I sold OTOH...

Buying low and hoping they don't become valueless. I'm just glad I'm 41 and not 61.
