There's also the Park Place in Euless, off 183. "My" service manager there couldn't believe a car that wasn't made of rust had 240,000 miles on it when I went in to get my mileage badge paperwork.

Park Place Mercedes in Bedford moved to Grapevine. I had the distinction of visiting the palatial dealership this week when the CLK died on the way home from work and I somehow managed to limp it over to the service area.

Attendants rush at your car like you're a celebrity, and you could get diabetes from all the polite greetings and such from EVERYONE!

It is a SUPER nice-looking place. The Bedford location wasn't bad, but this one trumps it for sure!

The cashier smiled politely as he handed me an $1102.70 bill for services...

I remember when the Bedford location was built. The center of the car world for Fort Worth had shifted from University Blvd with the closing of Overseas Motors to the west end of town on Alta Mere.

Then Beck (which later was bought out by Park Place) built his Mercedes dealership in Bedford. At the time he said it was because that Zip code had the highest incomes of anyplace in the area.

I liked it being there because I could go there for Mercedes parts and to Zim's for Porsche parts! Zim's is right next door.

I guess with the whole Collyville and Southlake boom the center of money has shifted to Grapevine.

(By the way, I am so old I can remember when 114 was a two lane highway.)
