Police shooting in Victoria Aust.
 

The other day in a town in Northern Victoria the police attended an incident & shot a 24 year old woman.
I was playing golf yesterday with a local officer from the PD & asked what really happened.

His explanation~
The woman was off her face on meth, she tried to hijack a mini bus transporting disabled children.
The driver & attendants just locked the doors & when she stood in front of the bus waving a large knife at them they called the PD.
The PD soon had the paddy wagon & a couple of cars there.
The mini bus backed up & left.
The woman then tried self harm ~ stabbed herself in the hand, so the police sprayed her with pepper spray.
It didnt work as she was off her face on meth.
She lunged at an officer so he tried to shoot her in the hand holding the knife but hit her in the shoulder.
She turned & ran towards one of the police cars, it appeared she was going to steal it.
The officer tried to shoot her as she ran away, missed twice before hitting her in the leg just above the knee. That brought her to the ground.
She was arrested & taken to the local hospital.
Later that night the hospital decided to transfer her to a larger hospital in the capital city.
The helicopter pilot would not transport her for fear she would go crazy in flight & cause a crash so they placed her in an induced coma for the journey. 2 relatively minor, non life threatening gun shot wounds & she needed that level of sedation !!

That was all very standard procedure, the only real problem was the 2 shots that missed her, hit the paddy wagon.
The poor police officer is now up to his neck in paper work explaining why he shot the paddy wagon!!

Meth is a bad thing. Because of my work I would be in contact with cops a lot, mostly in rural areas. I always asked them about the meth problem. Almost all would tell me stories about perfect model citizens morphing in to complete zombies.

Many of the LEOS down here say that if some one is on meth, pepper spray just doesnt work on them. Doesn't leave many options !!

If Meth has infested the area..it wont get rooted out any time soon.

While I don't doubt your story, nor do I question the officers involved...

...its not often that I hear all of those words together in one sentence :)
