Hold on a second, so if this upstanding citizen got into a gunfight with police...one would assume he had a gun...which in London is most illegal...so he was breaking at least a couple of laws.

Don't see a problem here, well I guess its just a good excuse to skip work and smash a few windows.:rolleyes:

It's getting scary over there. The riots just kicked off about a mile from my parents house.

I thought cops carried batons and waht have you-no guns?

Some police are armed. Especially in the city and the airports.

Shame the shopkeepers don't have guns. Someone tries to burn my place, theyare going to suffer.

And next week they are all going to be *****ing they don't have a any shops nearby..... WELL DUH!....you burned them.....remember?


Thank goodness WE are allowed to have guns......cops aren't effective at preventing crime from happening. A loaded gun is however.

Yes, having guns is very effective in preventing civil unrest in the US . . . like in Los Angeles, Detroit, Seattle, New Orleans . . . :D

Tell that to the innocent shop owners that have lost their livelihoods, and likely life savings. That argument is akin to saying if people just hand over everything to robbers or during a home invasion...or if rape victims just don't fight back then nobody gets hurt.

If someone tries to steal my TV or anything else when I am there then some criminal is not going to live to see another sunrise. And I would be in my legal right to do so. Sir I felt my life was in danger from this individual. Case closed.

Because unlike Merry old England....we have guns and are allowed to protect our property. In MOST of the United states anyway....except in certain liberal enclaves where criminals rights exceed those of the law abiding citizens.

The police were completely unable to deal with what was going on. So who IS going to defend you and yours? A block of shopkeepers leaning out second story windows with rifles (maybe with laser sights) is not a group I want to mess with. I don't really care how many looters/arsonists die. (ALL of them might be nice!). Don't want to die, stop looting/burning, go home and watch the action on TV. You are poor, outa work, pissed off? Do what the rest of us do- log on to a web forum and vent.
