Clipped a deer

Driving home last night, a deer popped out of nowhere as they usually do. The difference here is that she saw me coming and just trotted out in front of me anyway. Narrowly missing a head on collision, I clipped the deer's leg at 45 mph and the car has almost no damage on it! It looks like it was done in a parking garage or something, and you wouldn't notice it unless it was pointed out to you.

Try getting away with that in a modern car...you can't. Plastic obviously can't hold up to impacts like steel. Plus, since my insurance plan has a $50 deductible on body damage to my car, I pay barely anything to have it fixed. Mercedes truly was engineered like no other car in the world.

First day I had my car I did the same thing. all I have to show for it is a very small dent I've been meaning to pop out for awhile.

Thank goodness the damage wasn't severe, in both our cases. Car mishaps seem to haunt me like a dark cloud, so all my friends are naturally poking fun at the situation.

If they loved cars like I do, they wouldn't be laughing.

The wife and I was driving early one morning and a deer was crossing the road and started running straight for our car. as the deer was heading towards us he jumped and I stomped on the GAS and the deer jumped over top of the clk and didn't even touch the car. My thinking was that when the deer jumped, if I would have hit the breaks, the deer would come right through the windshield. My Ninja like reflexes saved the wife and I that day.

I clipped one in the right hindquarter about two months ago. Was doing thirty mph. Needed a hood, grille, headlight, and pull the core support back to where it belongs. Think it was $2500.00 damage.

Me and two state police went looking for it for about an hour, didn't want to see it lay there and suffer, never found it or any sign of blood. I like to believe that it survived as I never hit one before and as said above, it came out of nowhere and this was at 9:00 am.

I clipped a deer's neck with my side view mirror a month or so ago @ ~30mph. It hit the mirror and slid along the cladding line. It only left two door ding sized dents, one on the front fender and one on the rear door. Mirror is fine.
