Finally chronicling my cars in a blog.

Just the introduction for now, but I plan to go back on mostly old posts here to document my wheeling and dealing over the years, and some things I've done since becoming a dealer and have not documented.

There will be a quiz later... (joking)

Ya'll still got the Roadmaster? Neat rides from what I have read. Good job on the site.

I think I've heard most of that story in person, but it's nice to see it all typed out. Guessing you're going to do OT next?

"My first stop after the auction was to a friend’s shop to borrow his code scanner to see what massive issue plagued the car enough to trigger the light. The nice thing about modern cars is the simplicity of getting trouble codes, though its not always easy to find what is causing the code. Plug it in, input model information, press go, and like a woman that’s hitting PMS, everything that’s bothering her comes out in a coded burst that you must carefully and methodically approach. In this instance I got code PO455: evaporative emission leak detected. Sounds like something that would have been said during the nuclear crisis following the Japanese earthquake, but a quick google searched revealed it meant the fuel tank wasn’t venting properly. The first thing to check is the gas cap, and sure enough that was the issue. $15 later I had a mechanically sound as a pound proper luxury car for less than most people put as a down-payment towards a new econobox. This leads me to a few short days later about 2000 miles away from doo-da ville. "

If I read the blog will this be explained?;)

Not really an easy transitional sentence to understand taken out of context without the introductory paragraph. A few days after getting the E420 and doing all this check engine stuff I left San Diego and flew to California. My rental was a Chevy Aveo... the horror!

Because an astro is aproximately equal to doo doo?;)

You really got that impression from OnStar? I used it for the first time this summer while driving my Grandmother's Cadillac SRX, and having never driven out there before, I found it a pleasure to just be able to call them up and make them do all the navigation for me. Granted, you can do that yourself, but may as well get your money's worth.
